     Blake Le Moyne Smith was born on Thursday, August 27, 1936 in Bayard, Morrill County, Nebraska, son of James Earl Smith and Ruby Alice Thornton.1,2

Blake married Delores Elaine Temple on December 7, 1956, in Bayard.2

Blake was 50 years old and living in Spokane, Washington when his father, James, died on January 26, 1987.2

Blake married Betty Jo McCracken on May 13, 1992, in Coeur 'd Lane, Kootenai County, Idaho.3

Blake died on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington, at age 69.4

Blake LeMoyne Smith was born August 27, 1936 in a farm home near Bayard, Nebraska, to James Earl and Ruby A. (Thornton) Smith and passed away June 20, 2006 in Spokane, WA. He received his elementary education there and graduated from Bayard High School in 1954. He remained in that area until 1957 and then moved to Colorado seeking other employment. During the years that he lived in Colorado he married and three sons were born. Kenneth Lee, Douglas Wayne, and Larry Eugene Smith. The family moved to Spokane, WA in 1972 where Blake was employed until a work related injury forced retirement. He married Betty J. (McCracken) in 1992. He will be remembered as a man of many interests and talents including all aspects of food/cooking, gardening, wood working, travel, exhaustive reading and time on the computer. His family was the consuming interest of his life. He is survived by his wife, Betty, sons; Kenneth and family, Doug and his family, and Larry and his family. Step-sons; Doug Fillis and Mitzi, Daniel and Tana Fillis and David Fillis. Brothers and their families; Dale, Tom, Jim and Ron. Sisters and their families; Jean, Pat, Jan and the family of his sister Margery. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 26, at 2:00 pm in the Drawing Room at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206 (Phone: 509-924-9700).4
