     Gustavius Zeirke was also known as Gustav Adolf Albert Zeirke. He was born on Saturday, June 2, 1866 in Prussia, son of Gottfried Friedrich Zeirke and Eva Rosina Glashagel.1 Gustavius was christened on June 17, 1866 in Lobsens, Posen, Preussen, Germany.2 He emigrated about 1867 from Germany. His daughter, Mrs. Eva Wendorf, claims that her father (Gustavius) was 1 year old when his parents, and his sister Ottielia and her husband, immigrated to USA.3

Gustavius died in 1936.4 He was buried in Hillside Cemetery in Wilton, Monroe County, Wisconsin. His gravestone is marked as Hustavus Zeirke 1866-1936. The Hillside Cemetery is located on top of the hill on the northeast edge of Wilton village, two and a half blocks east of county Highway M and the bike trail intersection.
