     Frank (I) Fischer was born about 1815 in Bohemia, son of Mr. Fischer and Mrs. Fischer.1

Frank married Agnes Zastoupel, daughter of Mr. Zastoupel and Mrs. Zastoupel.2

Frank and Agnes lived on a farm near Vienna and emigrated in 1869 from Austria to the USA. They were accompanied by three of their four children -- Frances, Sophie, and Frank, Jr. Their daughter Agnes had married and remained in Austria.3,2

In 1869, Frank and Agnes settled on a farm in in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, Wisconsin.3

Frank appeared in the Oakdale, Monroe County, Wisconsin, US census of July 16, 1870 as head of household. He was 54 years old and was farming. His real estate was valued at $475.. The household also included Agnes, his wife. She was 52 years old and keeping house. Three of their children were living at home; Frank age 19, Seander age 15, and Sophie who was also age 15.4

By the time of the 1880 Oakdale census, he and his wife were living with their son, Frank (II) Fischer. Frank (II) was now 27 years old and head of the household. His wife, Amelia, was 19 years old. Frank (I) was 65 years old and Agnes was 63. The Frank and Johanna Honish family was living next to them. Family lore has it that they were cousins, but as of this writing, I have not found the connection.5,2
