Amanda married George Richard Francis Borrett on Sunday, March 12, 1848 in Ohio. George was 6 years old. He was the son of William Borrett and Maria Ball. The ceremony was performed by Rev. George Larkin. They settled in Volga Township, near Garber, in Clayton County Iowa.1,2 Amanda Kimber was born on Sunday, March 12, 1848 in Ohio.1,3

Amanda died on Monday, May 24, 1920. She was 72 years old.1,3 She was laid to rest in the Mount Harmony Cemetery in Rural Elkport, Clayton County, Iowa.3 Six children were born to Amanda and George.1
