Harry Barnhart was born on Sunday, October 12, 1890 in Mallory Township, Clayton County, Iowa, son of George Thomas Barnhart and Nancy Viola Hall.1
At age 23, Harry married Alvina Steinfadt on Wednesday, June 10, 1914. Alvina was 23 years old.1
Harry appeared in the Mallory Township, Clayton County, Iowa, US census of January, 1920 as head of household. He was 29 years old and was farming in a general manner.. The household also included Alvina, his wife. She was 29 years old. They owned their own home, which was mortgaged. Three children were living at home; Lowell age four, Kathleen age three, and Marjorie who was eight months old.2
Seven children were born to Harry and Alvina.1
Harry died on Saturday, July 15, 1967 at age 76.1 He was laid to rest in the Brown Cemetery in Colesburg, Delaware County, Iowa.1
