     Ellis Vetter was born on Friday, January 21, 1921 in Calamus, Clinton County, Iowa, son of Henry F Vetter and Laura F Fuller. His church affiliation was with the in Immanuel Lutheran Reformd Church.

Ellis was a farmer.

Ellis married Eleanor Higgins, daughter of Alpheus B. Higgins and Edna Elizabeth Lenhart, on June 25, 1944, in Wheatland, Clinton County, Iowa.

Ellis and Eleanor were living in Lost Nation, Clinton County, Iowa.1

Ellis died on Tuesday, June 26, 1990 in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, at age 69.2 He was laid to rest on Friday, June 29, 1990 in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Grand Mound, Clinton County, Iowa. The funeral service was held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Mound at 1:30 P.M. The message of comfort was presented by Rev. William Chellew. Marilyn Block was the organist and Terri Bousselot was the soloist.

Pallbears were Ed Sauer, Mark Vetter, Wayne Vetter, Kevin Linn, John Blong, and Jerry Wuestenberg. Honorary pallbears were John Regan, Larry Engler, Waltin Olson, Hubert Gade, Mike Crawford, and Sherwood Lahann. Funeral arrangements were handled by Kelly-Schultz Funeral Service.2
