     Sarah Byerly was born in 1783 in Hempfield (now Penn) Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, daughter of Michael Byerly and Anna Maria Harmon.2

Sarah married Abraham Lenhart, son of Christian Lenhart Sr. and Anna Maria Heindel, in 1804.3

She became a widow when her husband, Abraham, died on February 22, 1838.2

Sarah died on Saturday, December 9, 1848.2 An alternate, but incorrect listing of her death as having been 1843, was found in the Iowa Lenhart Family Reunion notes of 1998.3 She was laid to rest in the Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Her grave is located on the slopping hillside below the original brick church. Abraham's grave is next to hers.4
