Thomas (I) Wilkinson was born about 1778 in Ireland. His gravestone indicates that he was 84 years old at the time of his death, which makes his birth likely to be about 1778. The 1860 census has his age recorded as 90 years old, which would make him born about 1770. I don't know which is the closest to the truth.2,3 (Thomas was the great grandfather of Edward Wilkinson or even possibly his great great grandfather. Further research needs to be conducted on this subject).4,5
